Laura is making some kind of Salmon pasta dish tonight. I will ruin it by covering it in some kind of sauce :)

    • I've overdosed on good cheese today. Mozarella, basil and tomato sandwich for my lunch.

      Haloumi for my tea.

Will this make for good dreams one wonders? Also, how could anyone ever be vegan?

    • i made patatas bravas el diablo couple of nights back. seeing as we're on a summery mediterranean course right now. it is a new thing that i have invented.

      jersey royal new tatties
italian butter (awesome for cooking and available in larger stores)
      encona hot sauce
      cherry/baby plum tomatoes
      garlic cloves
      salt/pepper

boil up potatoes til soft...no parboiling here as they wont be in pan long enough.

crush garlic with flat of knife

put some butter in hot pan, with garlic

      throw in taters

throw in about half bottle of hot sauce

      thow in some maters

      chuck in some salt/pepper

jiggle about in pan and serve

    • Last night I found out the smoke alarm worked. Worth it though:

Chicken lightly fried with wholegrain mustard, honey and a bit of philadelphia.
Sauteed potatoes with finely chopped red onion, spring onion and red peppers.
      Brocolli

    • The missus had dinner on the table for me when I got in last night, and very tasty it was too.

      Penne pasta
      Crispy bacon
      Courgette
      Creme Fraiche
      Garlic
Lots of cheese (very nice stuff from the Waitrose deli counter)

And I have leftovers for lunch today! :D

Anyone got any good, flesh-free, recipe ideas?
    • PetePete
    • I am making a massive veg curry tonight - cauliflower, corriander, chilli and coconut was the idea but I have a load of other veg that needs using up so will chuck that in too.

    • pepperami firestick sandwich for lunch.

      one half baguette

      two pepperamis

      make into a sandwich

      that is all...i fucking rule.

incidentally...does anyone have a good recipe for eggs benedict or can tell me how to poach an egg without an egg poacher?

line a small cup with clingfilm
      break egg into it
      lift out
      tie or twist it shut
put in pan of boiling water

this twat knows put a few drops of vinegar in water too.

    • boil water with a tiny bit of balsamic... stir franticly to create a vortex of cookingness... break egg into the middle of said whirlpool... wait till its cooked (about 1/2 minutes) and then retreive with slotted spoon.

egg poaching is easy... but even easier is to get a bowl of cold water and crack the egg into it... put in the microwave for about a minute. never got this to work properly but ive seen it done.
