/incoming/inosallo.jpgA short and sweet review, reflecting more my inability to grasp exactly what’s going on than any lesser feeling toward it. Although that's not quite right – whilst it is excitingly variable, it is hardly a mad alchemy of sounds.

Anyway, enough blathering, let me get to the point – insokue have made an impression across merely five tracks and less than twenty minutes. From the first track alone, you can detect elements of grand, progressive sludge mindsets, definite and clear strains of screamo and post-metal in its considered build during its quieter moments. At its heaviest I’m thinking of someone like Oryx, elsewhere it is full of beans and jumping around on a skramz diet.

The two tracks that follow both take more than half their allotted time in steady, restrained mode before belatedly increasing the tempo and emotional involvement through post-hardcore to a point where it is nearly metallic. braving the new world is pure, wonderful screamo, from the heavier corners of the genre, just as I like it, before closing with a minute long piano instrumental.

This is an appetising introduction, a band coalescing sounds and injecting them with fury and raw emotion. The only complaint is that it is too short. Much like this review.
