I gave that another chance last night. I'm not really feeling it. Too poppy and not in a good old Weezer poppy way.

    • On first listen I totally hated it, I'm feeling the good songs a bit more, but it's just not a particularly awesome record.

    • Admittedly the second time through was better than the first, so maybe I'll persevere. As you say though, it's never going to be awesome.

without a doubt about the EPs.... to be honest if Jesu had only done the track "Heartache" i would have been a happy fan of Jesu... that track was nothing less than incredible in my eyes....

    • tool 'aenima' been waking up each day to this album, today i woke up early than expected but still feel i need to listen to the album as it's ace.

    • and regarding Jesu, first album was pretty good in my opinion - i didn't like it first off but it grew on me, i still listen to it on occasions but i'm not a big fan. I bought 'silver' and never really got into it. I feel i don't need anymore Jesu material, they can be a bit boring to me, depends on my state of mind.

    • I have to be in the right mood for them, but I think theres something cool about every Jesu release-

Heartache EP- still stands up as maybe the best release despite drum machine, incredible lyrics and the build up to both songs is a lesson in how to write a ten plus minute song.

Jesu- Has some of their best songs, natural progression from the EP

Silver- I personally think this is their best release, the pop and the bleak sides of the band come to the fore here and it made me check out bands like My Bloody Valentine, Ride and the like so its all good in my eyes.

Conqueror- I really like it "Weightless & Horizontal" is one of my fave songs by them.

Lifeline- Bit brief but still, Jarboe collaberation is fantastic.

I'm looking forward to hearing any new stuff.

Oh and they've been great live when I saw them about Conqueror tour time, and they were awful last time I saw them at Corp with Mono, Justin needs to work on the delivery live, no effects on his crap vocals live left it sounding rough and frankly a bit unprofessional, and the drummer needs to practice. They are good songs that deserve a good delivery live.

    • Oh and this is from their wikipedia entry, looking forward to the Envy split!

      quote:
A second split release, this time with Japanese post-metal band, Envy, is scheduled to be released through Daymare Records in June, 2008. Broadrick has also announced a new EP to be released through Caldo Verde as well as a CDEP named Why Are We Not Perfect that will feature the Jesu songs originally only available on the Eluvium split vinyl album, as well as new remixes. There are no scheduled release dates for these two recordings at this time.
