Cady Limitations of the Human Form

/incoming/cadylimi.jpgWhere Cady always this heavy? They’ve long been an incredible band, lighting up the underground and loved by those to have fallen under their spell, but I don’t think of them in terms of the sheer heft that knocks you back early on during their new album Limitations of the Human Form.

Maybe they have and my memory is merely playing tricks on me confuddled by the sheer brute force of the guitars. It quickly feels like a force unleashed, a band truly launching into their sound, with a production to back it up. When Missed, Dearly arrives it is rabid hardcore with yapping vocals with only the most distant tints of screamo that has always permeated their sound. It has such an emotional pull despite everything being so dark and crushing, a juxtaposed combination that is so rare, achieved by only a handful of talented bands (their frequent gig partners Jotnarr being one).

It flies by, bewildering through its quality and ferocity present in every one of its ten tracks in only twenty-two minutes. There’s a Bosse de Nage (at their most focussed) energy to Eaten Alive by Insects whilst Systems of Mistrust has an almost blackened hardcore urgency, a sound that fills your speakers and ears, in a manner that is as breathless to experience as it must be to play.

This is a phenomenal hardcore album, screamo taken to its voracious extremes, a band expending all they have in the music delivered.
