    • Just got a bonus from work for being an all-round good egg, and a thoroughly stout oak...

so i've spent some of it on a new guitar - Washburn WI65Pro with Seymour Duncans in black, with black and more black (it's basically the same as i've got at the minute, but better, less mouldy and blacker).

and some of it on a new practice amp - one of those 15W Orange combos with the reverb (2nd hand, for 30 bunts).

I've tried to sign up to dimeadozen countless times in the past, but there are always too many users! a 2 disc live God Machine DVD extravaganza does sound amazing though...

Yep, needle in a haystack trying to sign up to dimeadozen at the moment! Even though a few inactive accounts are deleted daily, if you cover blanks & postage will run a copy off if you like? Bit dark footage, sounds is good, still never seen any live God Machine footage, so it's pretty cool!

    • I have bought nothing. Much like May, in fact. This is about to change once I place my order for the new REBREATHER CD. If the fuckers respond to my email, that is

    • I have had a really tough month but spent my final few quid on a birthday card and present.

      I shouldn't have fucking bothered.

actually its not this exact one, but its same make / model / colour.

its also the single most expensive item i have ever bought, but its going to be worth it on Tuesday when i pick it up after its MOT

    • Fazers rock!
    • PodgePodge
    • thanks for your approval.
    • LaddethLaddeth
    • Thats quite alright.
    • PodgePodge
    • i almost spent 200£ on bits and bobs for it last night. i found a chip that i can put in it that will give me another 20bhp taking it to around 120 and topping out at 150mph.

this may be a little excessive for commuting to work

    • That's a pretty nice ride you got yourself there Podge.

I have a question: If I were wanting to buy a turntable, where would be the best place to go for one? Online is cool too, just looking for something reliable and cheap at this stage.
    • LaddethLaddeth
    • I got a pretty decent Bush one from Argos but they dont do it anymore and the turntables they have there now are a lot more than I paid for it then.
Do you have an amp? Cos if not, make sure you get a turntable with built in pre-amp.

Edit: A quick google for bush turntables shows me that for the price I paid you can only get mini ones, which is a bit gay :(
    • PodgePodge
    • my turntable is a mini one but its mainly 7" that i run on it anyway so its no big deal.

Richer sounds (google it) generally tend to have a lot of low cost good quality stuff in.
    • LaddethLaddeth
    • They know what they are talking about aswell.
You can even ask them to set up a demo for you so you can try them out which in my mind is a brilliant idea.
Especially if your buying a crap load of expensive stuff.

if you can get hold of a helmet as i don't have a spare then most likely yes.

What do you mean by cheap?

I'd normally recommend a Project Debut but they're getting a bit pricey (relatively) now. Project have a new 'budget one out though called the Genie which looks rather nice....

As laddeth says though you'll need an amp with a phono pre-amp built in.

If you can stretch to 200 notes the Debut USB is as versatile and good quality as you'll find for the price....
