If running of the sound card any type of interconnect should do. Just make sure all your drivers are correct with what you want to do and get a reasonablly priced cable and should be onto a winner.

drunkenly found a 3 second bit of music that describes "what type of music I like"

      what was it?

last night i ate loads of tasty food at my work meal out, then left because i was falling asleep. went round to ben and amy's and drank most of g's expensive red wine. thanks g! disappointingly small dose of of both cat and eliza dushku but ne'mind.

today i'm going to town with jen. if she hasn't already gone without me. then i plan to celebrate the end of term by going to a gig that has a skull on the flyer. oh indeed.

I've got one with a red end and it's really long. It can be difficult to get it in the hole at first but keep pushing and eventually it will slide home.

The AV lead should have three plugs on one end. So those three plugs go into one wire. It's not clear from the picture.

      thats not true actually.
Depends what sound card you are using. I've used a jack to phono style lead like the one in the picture for years. It cost me about 3 quid but they're pretty easy to come by in skips and house clearances.
    • PodgePodge
    • that's the exact cable Pete needs. i had a look at his set-up last night. it will run straight out of the headphones socket on the laptop into the aux on the back of his hi-fi.

      don't doubt the podge

Hmm, you should have tried falling asleep, cat kept running into the room and headbutting me.

Shame on Ben and Amy for having the Dusku-light series' of Buffy and Angel.

The first three seconds of Visions of Gehenna by Black Pyramid. I'm not so sure of the claim now I'm sober though...

I didn't get anything I meant to, except a frame. I did get some pirate balloons, an ugly picture of a frog in an ugly green frame, a DVD, a CD, and some pickled onions instead though...

I'm not saying every AV lead has to look like that, it's tjust the type that Podge was highlighting.

    • I hate to sound pedantic but you're still wrong.
The type podge is talking about does not have 3 plugs at one end at all.
      http://www.maplin.co.uk/images/300/l32ba.jpg

it only needs 2 for the stereo aux input. I'm not sure what lead you're thinking of , possibly one for a games console that plugs into a scart converter.
      yawn....

Yes, yes, I meant two, not three. That's exactly the one I have. Meh.

I was slightly confused as I was thinking about an AV lead for a camera.

    • Those AV ones for cameras can also prove very useful if you have an MP3 player but no stereo and sometimes you need one of these

Say , for example , you turn up to a crap party that's not a party at all you can plug your ipod into their TV and crank it up.
I wasn't trying to make you look stupid or anything like that Jen.

    • I've had an awesome weekend. Great day at the wedding yesterday. Followed by a kids party this afternoon. I wish I could be a fly on the wall when this 5-year old girl we were playing with goes back to school tomorrow. She was cracking me up.
