High on Fire - Death is this Communion

Took me a while (several years after buying my first CD of theirs) but enjoying HoF for the first time. Got this on the cheap so doubly good.

Oh yeah, incredible band. Have you seen the 1982 CBGB's DVD? The most amazing energetic, tight and intense live footage of any band I've ever seen.

I think it’s one of my all time favourite albums. It’s musically excellent and also fucking funny. Thus…it’s amazing.

Is the third one the one they a couple of years ago? I hear that if you wanted to join their myspace then you had to purchase a copy of their cd?

The 2nd album gets slated by many a critic. This critic thinks that it’s a immense piece of thoughtful progressive spiritual rock. ‘Caesar LXXI’ and ‘Man from Manhattan’ take you a journey..I like journeys.

    • The second album is good and doesn't deserve the panning it gets...it's just unfortunate coming after such an incredible debut it doesn't quite stand up to it. The third one came out a couple of years ago and was meant to be the third album in 1976 but they've re-recorded it all and changed the lyrics to reflect his god bothering ways. It's a little hard work.
