     Oh! Mr Porter [a great 1930s railway themed Will Hay comedy]
     
     The Train [one of the best war movies I've ever seen, with a very powerful ending, interesting subject and great railway sequences]. This is a film no-one, but no-one seems to remember or rate apart from a few critics here and there. But I think it's brilliant.

     The Wooden Horse [a brilliant and true prisoner of war escape story]
     
     George Orwell - Coming Up For Air - often overshadowed by 1984, Animal Farm et al, this I think is one of the finest yet saddest books I've ever read.
