Lazarus Blackstar at Casbah (the only time I ever heard the sound do a band justice there)

Forgot about that, with Black sun headlining wasn't it?
    • Tino InsanaTino Insana
    • Nah, Gloomy Sunday were headlining, Black Sun played before Blackstar.

Casbah deserve a little credit for the sound, but honestly I've seen Blackstar a good few times now and they'd sound amazing playing in a garden shed. Those fellows know about tone.

    • at least i got the same night.

Was also impressed with the new vocalist.

      Danava in Belfast
      Melvins in Dublin
      Frank Black in Dublin
      We are Knives, Belfast

To be honest it's been a poor year here for gigs.

Bring Me The Horizon at So'ton Uni
the first of the two Death Cab For Cutie shows in Brixton
Reuben's last gig at the Electric Ballroom
      Tomorrow night at ULU, probably.

Chickenhawk, AOTM, Breaking Colts, DOHM, Berserkowitz - Redhouse tother day (again, great party atmosphere and 5 great sets)

Jucifer - Corp (supporting Today is the Day)

kevorkiansolution - Grapes (come back gig, with visuals, insane)

Pilgrim Fathers, Gentlemans Pistols, Dirtyblood, Threads - Redhouse (our January gig, what a line up)

Acid Mother's Temple - Shakespeare (weird)

Earth - Manchester Zion Arts Centre (last but certainly not least, absolutely mesmeric)

      These were all amazing.

Other gigs of note for me have been-

Chris Corsano/Mick flower duo at Heeley Institute.

Hey Colossus/Acid Mothers Temple/Aufgehoben/Lords etc at Hokaben (but the majority of that fest's atmosphere was awful)

Isis and Torche at Corp (best time I've seen Isis)
    • Rob HimselfRob Himself
    • Yeah, definitely the Rise Above bash. Was ace to see everyone and Gentleman's Pistols, Grand Magus, Electric Wizard, Moss, Witchsorrow and Taint were all ace!

Don't cry for Hoon, he was one of the most physically attractive men that ever lived. That should be accomplishment enough for anyone, no matter how long or short their drug-addled lives may be.

    • Funny you mention Don't Cry, he sang on that song with Axl you know
