I've just checked the plants in my garden, and my cauliflowers have finally started to sprout. Exciting times.
I've also got loads of broad beans growing strong - anyone got any good (veggie) recipes to use them in?
And I've got a herb garden - thyme, rosemary, bay leaves, chives, lemon thyme, mint - which I all use, but I've also got bush loads of sage which I have no idea what to do with - any suggestions?
sage and butternut squash risotto is the shizzle
also growing lemon thyme, which went well with a cod and chorizo bake
use rosemary stalks as skewers for bbqs
use broad beans in a warm potato salad, i use red onion, creme fraiche, mint and chive in mine
just had our first runner beans come through, nom nom

we have mange tout, spuds, onions, garlic, toms, a veritable array of herbs - thyme variations, basil variations, rosemary x 3, and loads of others i cant remember! leeks, cherrys, apples, strawberries...
phew!
My first year of gardening has yielded little as I didn't plant much, although i have shitloads of cherry tomatoes coming out now, awesome garlic from before Christmas, quite a few potatoes and spinach and beetroot going ok.
My pride and joy are my two enormous pumpkin vines which have spread over most of the veg patch and looking pretty promising. Pumpkin pie and soup ahoy!
My garden was a dump when we moved in, so I'm getting there. Next year i'll be really organised with raised beds and everything.
The bottoms are. The top is something that laura made when she was sixteen for an art project. Her mother found it at the weekend and I said that I would have it....You can see why.
