That was awesome, but so was the gig at Boulty's with us, AoP, Dead In The Woods (who are just amazing) and Grimpen Mire.

      My faves-

Can't think of that many more that stick in the mind.

    • It's been leaner this year than previous but:

      Best - GWAR at Wacken
Worst - Dozer not turning up was a big disappointment and Zu were dreadful. I know they have a lot of fans but to me it's just poo with trumpets.

    • Late entry, OM at All Tomorrow's Parties. Absolutely mindblowing! Shellac were superb again but OM won the "Ben's Best Set of the Festival" prize.

    • There's no doubt some i've forgotten, has been an excellent year for gigs.

Amplifier at Sleazy's - Been waiting for years to see this band, twas spot on.

Oso at Bloc, When a classically trained guitarist rolls onstage mid fingerpicking on a unicycle, you know its going to be incredible, fantastic live band.

Roadburn 2009, don't get me started, so many highlights. Farflung!

Firebird / Solace / Wino - Ended roadburn spectacularly, Solace started with Khan and the momentum didn't hold up for a second before wino blew us all away with some all round magnificient musicianship.

Damnable Contraption at the Halt, crazy bastards.

Earthless at the Captain's Rest, awesomely loud and gloriously trippy, could have watched 'em for hours.

Another aye for the Ninehertz Alldayer, excellent day, arrived during Berserkowitz, thoroughly enjoyed Timothy Mud Generator before rowing to Flatlands and headbanging like a fiend whilst Koresh threw themselves around.

Flutatious at the Eden Festival, spacey riffage with a jig in their step.

Invasion at Captain's Rest, great night.

Monotonix at Sleazy's, crazy mothers who play most of their set on the crowd.

Karma to Burn at Cabaret Voltaire, huge riffs, small venue, mad crowd. stellar..
