    • I thought you always used an apostrophe to mark missing letters so it would be "it's" for "it is".

    • Yeah you do, but not always. I was referring to 'winds its way', because it's (hah) possessive and inanimate. Only mucking about - the one that really gets me is "James' house" which should be James's, because James isn't a plural. Admittedly we were taught the opposite at school because kids can't learn contradicting 'rules' when it comes to grammar.
