Big Spaceship, Destroy All Monsters, The Gig Barons and Bearfoot Beware present an evening of noise rock and post-hardcore.
Heading the bill and helping curate the evening are Leeds' finest exponent of post-hardcore people, Bearfoot Beware. I am sure you all know who they are and what they do but if not, they sound like something in between Faraquet, hoovers and fishing and now are evolving to more of a darker blend of early nineties post something like Unwound. Minus all the ludicrous references, they are really good and sound very nice at a gig with a beer or a glass of fine wine.
There are loads of things on the internet about them. Find it….
A few examples you will find here:
and here's a video of them being silly:
The only band on the bill from outside Leeds, United Fruit are a noise rock band from Glasgow. Emanating a kind of anthemic slur reminiscent of Canada's Metz self-titled album or early Sonic Youth and an unrelenting rhythm section that viciously throws fills at your ears like they were going out of fashion. The band have toured the U.K and Europe over 5 times and have played festivals such as T In The Park, Wickerman, Brew At The Bog, Stag And Dagger and have supported bands such as Dananananaykroyd, Twin Atlantic, And So I watch You From Afar, Die Die Die!, The Twilight Sad and Maps And Atlases. They're last offering was the 2011 album 'Fault Lines' which certainly packs a right good wallop and other releases have included a split with the brilliant Bronto Skylift in 2009. I will be sure to come out with some lovely vinyl after this show, make sure you bring some, lads!

KATNIP (Previously known as Sensory Overload)
Jazz skronk hardcore in the vein of NoMeansNo and ffo the weirder side of Alternative Tentacles/Trance Syndicate bands. To liken these guys to much is probably not giving them enough credit, they don't particularly sound like anything, however the questions they ask of your ears deserve a veritable thumbs up. Hard-hitting, visceral jazz stomp hardcore with vocals passages reminiscent of Dave Yow or the great Daniel Higgs. Great band, good lads, fresh young talent from leeds, no reason to not like it.
