     Last time we did Chicago for 3 nights followed by 5 days driving to LA and 3 days there at the end.
     
     This time we plan to spend a little longer over it but the mileage is roughly the same (about 2,700 miles).
     
     Probably 6 nights at SXSW, 1 night in Phoenix, 1 night in San Diego, 2 nights in LA, 2/3 in San Francisco, 1 night in Portland, 2 nights in Seattle. Or something like that.
     
     I've been looking into the cost of SXSW this morning and it's going to be EXPENSIVE! $500 for the ticket if bought before September. Plus £150+ a night for the hotel if you want to be anywhere near the action. I think it might have to be all four of us in one room.
