      Capricorns - the sound of a band who have died
      Grand Magus - dull metal
      Down - bland meat-head with symmetrical stage setting

      Taint - fucking brilliant show
      The Devil's Blood - didn't see them

      Bat Cave
      Serpent Cult - didn't see them
      Litmus - i cant remember which of the trio i saw, one i missed, one i liked, one i didn't

      FRIDAY

      Main Stage
      Blood of the Sun - surprisingly stoner
      Witchcraft - brilliant show, if slightly week sound
      Trouble - didn't see them
      Isis - had a Mexican meal instead (try desperado beer, its good)

      Green room
      Danava - i cant remember which of the trio i saw, one i missed, one i liked, one i didn't
      Baby Woodrose - weak monster magnet / nob-head front man
      Black Shape of Nexus - crushingly evil and heavy
      Witch - good but i don't know the new album so left early
      Groundhogs - saw CoM instead
      Scott Kelly - didn't watch
      Mos Generator - didn't see them

      Bat Cave
      Assemble Head - didn't see them
      Zone Six - saw them but cant remember what they were like
      Gentlemans Pistols - missed them but every one raved about them being brilliant
      La Ira Da Dios - didn't see them
      Church of Misery - brilliant but surprisingly fast set
      Earthless - good for half an hour then i went to bed

      SATURDAY

      Main Stage
      Long Distance Calling - didn't see them
      Cephalic Carnage - painfully dull due to Doom set
      Boris - didn't see them
      Cult of Luna - sounded weak, Pete thought they were pelican
      Enslaved - didn't see them
      Acid Mothers Guru - didn't see them

      Green Room
      Electric Orange - didn't see them
      Jesu - didn't see them
      The Heads - really enjoyed them despite not knowing anything about them till they played
      Wolves in the Throne Room - missed due to food / drinking
      Tia Carrera - didn't see them
      Dixie Witch - Party fun rock and roll stoner
      Kongh - missed due to being asleep

      Bat Cave
      Lesbian - much better than casbah show
      Kruger - fucking brilliant, band of the weekend, closed with an all destroying cover demon cleaner
      Nadja - didn't see them
      My Sleeping Karma - didn't see them
      Year of No Light - missed due to watching green room bands

      SUNDAY

      Green Room
      Graveyard - Witchcraft with out the hooks
      Repomen - too busy getting sunburned out side to see them
      Ramesses - slightly sloppy (equipment issues) new guitarist
      The Glasspack - didn't see them

      Bat Cave
      Beehoover - funny and bloody brilliant as usual
      Dzjenghis Khan - didn't see them

      other than the usual suspects it was good to meet Old Crone & the London boys, big thanks to Marzia "iz fakin borin'" (Sabotage promo) for providing laughs all weekend and big thanks to Elena (Exile PR) for helping us all hang out together when it got complicated

      Boris - sounded like mush but beyond sound issues not bad.
      Cult of Luna - sounded weak, Pete thought they were pelican

      Acid Mothers Guru - the only band able to make the mars volta sound like westlife. psyc prog bollocks.

      Green Room
      Wolves in the Throne Room - needed to be louder but great band
      Dixie Witch - Party fun rock and roll stoner
      Kongh - really enjoyed and heavy as fuck.

      Bat Cave
      Kruger - fucking brilliant, closed with an all destroying cover demon cleaner. again excellent band only bested by taint.


      only one thing remains, same time next year?

      agreed though the beer is better lots better and not as gassy either.

      oh and today i was 25 hours early for my Doctors appointment as not only did i forget to change my clock back to UK time but i had it booked for the 22nd. thats how fucked up my sleep pattern is, though it would have been helped had Schipol not enforced their no sleeping in the airport after 5am the big shitters

      So far I've found 2 places in Nottingham that sell it. Tis the good shit. Although I guess it is yet another reason to want to go to Roadburn next year!

      they dont sell it in the venue but they do in the place just across the road.

      Capricorns - OK. One very good tune.
      Grand Magus - OK but, wasn't drunk enough yet.
      Down - Very entertaining.

      Green Room
      Diagonal - Very good. Proper Psych. Will be checking out more of them.
      Taint - Excellent.

      Bat Cave
      Litmus - Good but, too quiet.

      FRIDAY

      Main Stage
      Blood of the Sun - Rockin'. Mental drummer. Bought T-shirt.
      Witchcraft - Early stuff sounded great. Newer stuff a bit weak.
      Isis - OK. Bit mellow. Too quiet.
      Earthless - Superb. Highlight of the night.


      Green room
      Danava - Awesome. Wicked synth psych breaks.
      Baby Woodrose - Awesome on record but, lacked groove live. Good guitar playing though.
      Witch - Started a bit iffy but quickly became brilliant, excellent and awesome.
      Groundhogs - Good. Trippy. Surprisingly heavy.


      Bat Cave
      Gentlemans Pistols - They were brilliant.

      Main Stage
      Cephalic Carnage - Rather dull. Good projections though.
      Boris - Very good show. Could have picked set better. Drummer fell off stage.
      Acid Mothers Guru - Good.

      Tia Carrera - OK. lots of groove.

      Firstly thanks to everyone who sorted me out with cash after my card issues, really really appreciated. Also big thanks to Elena for getting me into the Sunday gig, lovely people.

      Grand Magus - Like his voice, they were ok
      Down - Pretty good as Phil didnt say anything

      Green Room
      Diagonal -Really good, trippy, sound like Rare Bird (Terry noticed that)
      Taint - Awesome
      The Devil's Blood - didn't see them

      Bat Cave
      Serpent Cult - didn't see them
      Litmus - Missed them

      FRIDAY

      Main Stage
      Blood of the Sun - Loved them, it has hammond in spades. Awesome drummer/singer
      Witchcraft - Good but not great
      Trouble - Saw a bit, not enough to really say but they sounded loud
      Isis - had a Mexican meal instead which was really good fun

      Green room
      Danava - Enjoyed them, nice to see a longer set
      Baby Woodrose - Not quite as good as I hoped for, some of it sounded cool
      Black Shape of Nexus - Didnt see
      Witch - Saw first 3 songs and they seemed a bit like they couldnt hit the groove, but informed that they got much better after I left
      Groundhogs - Cool, legends, grey hair, guitar, nice
      Scott Kelly - didn't watch
      Mos Generator - Suprise as I hadnt heard much before, really good stoner rock with a good guitar player. Cool

      Gentlemans Pistols - Great, up the front and they looked like they loved every minute

      Desperados is excellent drinkage! It's very very easy to drink and very strong so it's quite easy to get shitfaced with it!! We were going to go Roadburn last year but with that and ATP being so close not all of us could afford to make it. We're planning on going to next year's Roadburn and now I know they sell Desperados it'll tick another box off the 'pro' list!!!
